Greetings! We took a little weekend off to go to Las Vegas this weekend. It’d had been three years since we’d been to Vegas and, being the gamblers that we are, we were itching to get there! We stayed at the Paris Las Vegas, which is beautiful. We had super meals at Paris as well as Morton’s of Chicago and the Venetian Italian Restaurant (a Vegas landmark). I won a little money and Aylin lost some. We drove to Vegas, which is something I’d avoided in a while. But since airfare was so expensive, we decided to get a rental. Driving there was not to bad but the drive back was murder. It took us a good seven hours!

I’m tired in a good way. Good to be back… Kind of…

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for us. We found out that Martini (one of kittens) has feline leukemia. Since we have another kitten, we couldn’t keep both because we would expose our other kitten (Midori) to the virus. Kittens are highly susceptible to the feline leukemia. We had to keep the two kittens separated for over two weeks. Obviously, we couldn’t confine the two this way for years. Fortunately, the lady who we got the kitten from said that she would take him back. She has adult cats that have built immunity against the virus. Thank God for her kindness. It was very difficult for us to part from him because he’s one of the most adorable and loveable kittens we’ve ever seen. But we couldn’t risk exposing Midroi to the virus. We know that Martini is in good hands.

In other news, the band is getting ready for the big day in Carlsbad. We have a killer set for the show and I think we will definitely blow away the Alley. We’re all totally psyched!!!

News update on our Carlsbad gig: WE’RE ON FOR OCTOBER 18, 2003!!!
What for more detail information within the next few days!

I’ll leave you with the following thought:

To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony. -William Henry Channing, clergyman, reformer (1810-1884)

Friday

Ara and Delia became the proud parents of a healthy 8 lbs baby boy yesterday at 4:15 PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2003. His name is Anthony Zareh Grigorian. As his auntie and uncle, Aylin and I couldn't be happier! His already got Ara’s nose! Actually, he does have our grandfather’s profile. The miracle of life is… amazing. Both Delia and Ara are doing well (as well as one can after going through what one has to go through when having a baby). They should be home by Saturday.

On another note, we will be picking up Martini (our other kitty) this weekend. Can’t wait!

P.S. Check out the new photos of my staff and coworkers.
