Basically, I’m a driven person. For many years, people have told me that I should take it easy and slow down. I always knew that they were right but never knew how I could take it easy while there were things to be done. Recently, one friend in particular had been telling me to slow down before I got myself sick. I didn’t know what it really meant to slow down until I got sick this Thanksgiving weekend and rested for a few days. How wonderful it was to let go, to stop running, and to stop thinking. So, some things remained undone. Some things slowed down. But at least I felt better mentally and physically. That’s when I understood what my friend was telling me. I did the same in these last two weekends. I enjoy days and nights better. I sleep better. And I have a smile on my face :-)
I don’t see or hear from that friend anymore but her advice got through to me. It finally got through. So, thank you friend, where ever you may be.
Everybody seems to think I’m lazy
I don’t mind, I think they’re crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Until they find that there’s no need.

It’s been a while since my last entry, so here it goes…
I’ve been very busy at work. Can’t discuss the details here, so there!
I got very ill during the Thanksgiving holidays. On Tuesday night, I had a massive diarrhea attack and vomiting. The diarrhea continued throughout Wednesday and subsided by Thursday afternoon. Subsequently, I had fever, body aches, etc. for a couple of days. I got better by the end of the week but missed out on the fun with the family on Thanksgiving. I had some sort of a virus, I suppose. The doctor gave me a prescription that worked well. Aylin helped a lot and took care of me with soups and TLC. On Saturday, it was Aylin’s turn to get sick. She was bed-ridden for most of Saturday and it was my turn to take care of her.
The chances of a gig at Sagebrush look pretty good! We hope to know for sure by the next couple of weeks. Keep checking for the latest news!
My play was a complete success. The audience was a failure. -Ashleigh
